Category overview

For organisations helping Australians understand health and wellbeing information with confidence.

Health education and support plays an important role in helping consumers navigate health, wellness and wellbeing information in a clearer, more practical and responsible way.

The AHWA Health Education & Support category is designed for Australian-based organisations, platforms, programs and services that make complex information easier to understand, communicate responsibly and support consumers with practical, accessible guidance.

What we look for

Strong entries make trust easy for consumers to understand.

AHWA recognition is not based on presentation alone. Entries are considered against the same published principles that sit across the awards program.

01

Transparency

Clear consumer information, plain-language education, accessible instructions and honest explanation of program, product or service purpose.

02

Responsibility

Careful communication, responsible claims and clear boundaries between general education, wellbeing support and medical or therapeutic advice.

03

Consumer relevance

Practical usefulness for Australian consumers, with information that is easy to understand, navigate, compare and act on.

04

Usability

Thoughtful design, accessible communication, clear onboarding, helpful support pathways and inclusive information delivery.

05

Sustainability

Where relevant, long-term consumer value, responsible delivery, inclusive access and sustainable ways of supporting ongoing education or care.

06

Evidence and support

Helpful supporting information such as website links, learning materials, methodology notes, documentation, impact examples or publicly available resources.

Important distinction

Recognition is not the same as medical approval or certification.

The Australian Health & Wellness Awards is an independent recognition program. It is not a regulator, certification scheme, medical authority or source of medical advice.

Recognition reflects assessment against AHWA’s published criteria for the relevant award year. It does not confirm therapeutic effectiveness, regulatory approval or suitability for any individual health condition.
