Independent recognition for the brands making Australia healthier, more sustainable, and more honest.
Why we started this
The Australian health and wellness market is growing fast. New products and services launch every week, consumer interest in sustainable and ethical brands has never been higher, and yet — finding genuinely trustworthy recognition has remained surprisingly difficult.
Most existing awards programs are either consumer popularity contests, heavily commercialised, or lack transparent criteria. Brands doing the right thing — sourcing ethically, communicating honestly, building products with real consumer benefit — were getting lost in a sea of marketing noise.
The Australian Health & Wellness Awards was founded in 2026 by a team with a background in business and consulting, and a shared passion for sustainability and ethical commerce. We created AHWA because we believed the market needed an awards program built on published criteria, independent assessment, and genuine integrity — not on who could spend the most on entry packages or generate the most votes.
Every decision we make about how the program runs comes back to one question: would a consumer trust this?
What we stand for
Transparent
We publish our assessment criteria openly so every entrant knows exactly what they’re being judged on. There are no hidden criteria, no commercial arrangements with entrants, and no pay-to-win tiers.
Independent
AHWA has no brand affiliations and accepts no sponsorship that influences outcomes. Every entry is assessed on its merits against the same published criteria, regardless of company size or marketing budget.
Consumer-led
Our criteria are built around real consumer expectations — not industry lobbying or brand preferences. We ask whether a product or service genuinely serves the people who use it.
Sustainable
We believe business and environmental responsibility are not in conflict. Our Sustainable Products category exists because we believe brands building for the long term deserve to be recognised for it.
How the Program Works
The Australian Health & Wellness Awards operates on a simple principle: every entry is assessed against the same four criteria — Transparency, Usability, Responsibility, and Consumer Relevance — by an independent assessment process with no commercial stake in the outcome.
Entries are open to Australian-based businesses, brands, and organisations offering products or services in the health, wellness, and sustainable products space. There are no industry connections required, no minimum company size, and no advantage given to larger or more established brands.
Successful entrants are notified directly. Recognition is awarded on merit. Submission of an entry does not guarantee an outcome — and we think that’s exactly how it should be.
Our commitment to you
Whether you’re a one-person wellness brand or an established health business, when you enter the Australian Health & Wellness Awards you can expect:
- Clarity — published criteria, clear process, no surprises
- Fairness — every entry assessed on equal footing
- Integrity — no commercial relationships that influence outcomes
- Transparency — if we make changes to the program, we communicate them openly
We’re a first-year program and we know trust is earned over time. We’re committed to building a program that the Australian health and wellness community can rely on — one that genuinely means something when a brand displays the badge.
The 2026 Australian Health & Wellness Awards are open now. Entries are assessed across six categories — Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Wellness & Wellbeing, Health Education & Support, Sustainable Health Products, and Personal Care & Hygiene.
Entry fee: $69 AUD per submission.
The Australian Health & Wellness Awards is an independently administered recognition program. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government body, health authority, or industry association.
